Heartbreak in Cape Verde: Our BAL Dream Ends Against JCA

Heartbreak in Cape Verde: Our BAL Dream Ends Against JCA

We were one win away from history. We fought for it. For long stretches, it felt within reach. But in the end, the dream slipped away.

This was it.

A rematch against JCA with a place in the Basketball Africa League at stake. Win, and we become the first Ghanaian side to reach the BAL. Despite our earlier loss to them on the road, belief was strong. We had improved. We had grown. And this felt like a different moment.

Back home, fans united in rare fashion. Rivalries were set aside. For one night, it was all about Ghana.

A Fight Worthy of the Moment

We started with intent.

The first quarter set the tone; tight, physical, and full of belief. We edged the early exchanges and carried that energy into the half, matching JCA possession for possession.

Our Nobles fought for every ball. Every rebound. Every moment. At halftime, the game was still within reach.

The Turning Point

JCA came out stronger after the break, but we stayed close. Then came the decisive stretch. With five minutes to play, Mike Nuga caught fire, scoring 13 points to create separation. It was the run that ultimately defined the night.

Final score: Spintex Knights 82 — 93 JCA

What's Next

The journey is not over. We now turn our attention to the third-place game against Centre de Référence de Basketball de Tombouctou on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
